Lightandshade is an online store specializing in high-quality designer lighting and furniture. We, the minds behind Lightandshade, are constantly searching for products that are innovative in terms of finish, design, quality, and originality.

Through the website www.lightandshade.be, customers can make their purchases in a pleasant, transparent, and secure manner. Orders can be tracked via a track and trace system until delivery.

User Agreement

There is a valid agreement between the buyer and Lightandshade when Lightandshade receives the confirmation of an order on its website. Lightandshade reserves the right to refuse an order or to subject it to additional conditions, for example, in the case of large orders, orders by minors, incomplete ordering procedures, or issues with previous orders.

Invoices and Payments

Orders are always paid in advance. Exceptionally, orders can be paid after delivery. The payment term for orders after delivery is 10 working days. The term starts on the next working day following receipt of the order. The signature upon delivery by the courier service serves as receipt and approval of the order. If items are inadvertently delivered to the recipient, they have 10 working days to inform Lightandshade. If the items are not refused upon delivery or disputed, the receipt of the items by the recipient is approved, and consequently, the order as well. In case of unjustified non-payment due to willful default and/or negligence, a compensation of 10% will be charged by law and without notice, with a minimum of €50 and a maximum of €2500 per invoice. The recipient has 10 working days to dispute the invoice received. If the invoice or delivered goods are not disputed within this period, the order (and the delivered items) are automatically confirmed as correct and well received. An order is only considered definitive once payment has been made by the customer. In case of bank transfer, an order is considered confirmed when the payment has been made to account number IBAN BE23 0018 3430 8291, in favor of Lightandshade (N-VORM BV).

Loss or Damage During Transport

According to commercial law, loss and/or damage during the transport of an ordered product is the responsibility of the seller. Lightandshade must be informed by email within 24 hours of delivery. Lightandshade reserves the right to decline any liability if this period is not respected.

14-Day Return Policy

The Belgian law on commercial practices and consumer information and protection dated April 6, 2010, allows the buyer to notify the seller (info@lightandshade.be) within 14 days of receipt of the product that they are withdrawing from the sale. The goods must be returned in their unopened packaging within 5 days of notification. Items that have been used, connected, manipulated, or modified by the buyer cannot be returned. The product box must not be used as the shipping box. The product box must always be extra packaged to avoid damage. A copy of the invoice and a covering letter must be included with the return shipment. Lightandshade will refund the original invoice amount as soon as we receive the returned item. The refund is processed to the card/account number or payment method used for placing the order. The buyer is responsible for the shipping costs of the return. Lightandshade is only responsible for return shipping costs if the buyer received the wrong item. Lightandshade may refuse returned items or their refund if the packaging has been opened, if the products have been damaged by the customer, or if the customer fails to return the items within 14 days of receiving the return voucher. Any exchange or refund will only be processed once the returned items have been received at the return address.

Canceling an Already Shipped Order

The buyer waits until the item is delivered. In accordance with the applicable return rules, the buyer sends the item back. Lightandshade refunds the original invoice amount as quickly as possible.

Returns

The buyer sends the item back sufficiently prepaid (and registered if the value of the shipment exceeds €50.00). The buyer includes a copy of the invoice and a covering letter mentioning the account number with the returned item. The buyer is responsible for the shipping costs of the return. Return address: Lightandshade, Oostkaai 24B, 8900 Ypres. Unstamped or insufficiently stamped shipments will always be refused and returned to the sender.

Delivery

Except for a few exceptions, the purchase is delivered within 3 weeks. The final delivery date is always communicated if possible. Lightandshade is not responsible for problems with the courier or transport company. Lightandshade is not responsible for receiving an incorrect address from the customer. If a package is not delivered due to an incorrect address, the customer is responsible. If the package is lost as a result, Lightandshade does not refund the order. If an order includes multiple items, the package is sent only when all items are in stock. If this delays the 3-week delivery period, the out-of-stock item will be sent separately and free of charge.

Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are clearly stated during the ordering process, for both domestic and international shipments. Shipping costs vary depending on the weight of the shipment.

Our Products

All products offered by Lightandshade are described as accurately and in good faith as possible. Offers and prices are valid on the day they are published on our website. All prices include VAT and any environmental taxes (Recupel and Bebat). Lightandshade cannot be held responsible for errors in offers. In case of an error in the offer, the order will be canceled and refunded. Lightandshade can cancel and refund the order at any time without the customer's consent. Lightandshade cannot be held responsible for consequences resulting from the unavailability of a product or a delayed delivery beyond the 2-3 week period. Lightandshade offers products based on manufacturers’ catalogs. Lightandshade cannot be held responsible if a product is no longer available from the manufacturer. If a product is no longer available, the order will be immediately refunded.

Discounts

Extra promotions or discounts do not apply to personalized quotes.

Warranty Policy

Many products come with strong warranties ranging from 2 years to a lifetime. These warranties only apply if the products have been used correctly. The warranty is based on the manufacturer’s/brand's warranty. Lightandshade follows the warranty procedure and conditions of the respective manufacturer/brand.

General Guidelines:

Lamps and batteries are not covered by warranties unless otherwise stated. Items that are intentionally damaged or where the customer has attempted to repair the item with additional damage are not covered by warranties. Contact Lightandshade (info@Lightandshade.be) for each warranty case so that we can correctly follow the manufacturer's warranty procedure. If the warranty applies, send us the product sufficiently prepaid, along with a copy of your purchase invoice and a description of the damage. Lightandshade reserves the right to proceed with repair or replacement of the damaged product with the same or another product of the same nature and price range. The repaired or replaced product will be sent to you free of charge within a previously agreed period after following the manufacturer’s procedure.

Legislation

All products offered on www.Lightandshade.be are legally compliant with Belgian legislation. Foreign customers should always consult the laws in their own country if they have doubts about the legality of their purchase in their country. Lightandshade cannot be held responsible if the items offered are used incorrectly or irresponsibly by the buyer, nor for any material or bodily harm caused to third parties as a result of incorrect and/or illegal use of the items on this site.
